A disappointing piece of junk
Don't let the name fool you. This is made in China, not in North or South Carolina. It is made of some flimsy tropical wood that doesn't hold screws. The screws in the drawer hinges pulled out and only sawdust was left where the screws used to be. The finish is thinner than paper and easily scratched off. The parts were packaged in flimsy polystyrene sheets that disintegrated and made a huge mess as the parts were removed from the box. This piece of junk is so unworthy of the usual fine products found on this web site.

Hard to Assemble?
4.5 hours to assemble? Did you have both hands? If you can put together a Lego set built for a 7 year old then you can put this thing together in about an hour. Have a screw driver and a power drill (cuts your work time in half. It's not rocket science...wooden dowels and screw the thing together. Looks good when finished. Note: It's not hardwood...but that's about the only negative.

fabulous desk!
Other reviewers had packing and delivery issues, but luckily I did not. As to the product, I couldn't be happier--it's nice, heavy wood--a beautiful finish, a clean design, and the hideaway keyboard tray is great. You could easily spend just as much for some pressboard crapola, so I'm extremely happy to have a "real" piece of furniture that's so solid and attractive.
