Watchmakers Advice
I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watchmakers point of view.

This said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret" sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of CHRONOMETER grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation.

All in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase.

Who buys a k watch from Amazon?
I bought this watch for my wife's birthday. It came up as a Gold Box Lightning Deal and I saved it to see if she wanted it. She actually liked the style but debated whether or not to get it. I finally decided to just order it and let her see it in person. With Amazon, I didn't worry about returning it if she didn't like it.

The watch itself is very nice. It came in a plush box with all the docs and certs. The diamonds are small but high quality: G color, VVS clarity. Even the 18k gold used for the Omega symbol was on the certificate. The jeweler who adjusted the watch band was impressed and verified the diamonds.

As for the style, a watch like this is more for jewelry than function, so it's a matter of taste. To me, it isn't very big and is definitely feminine looking--my wife is rather petite and this fits her well. The Roman numerals give a slight pinkish tinge to the mother of pearl dial.

As far as buying from Amazon.com, the service was impeccable. This was before I signed up for Amazon Prime, but they quickly shipped it out. UPS called to confirm delivery and said it required signature confirmation. The only slight negative was my Amazon Visa card flagged this transaction. I used another credit card and only got 1.5% back instead of 3%. I would think the Amazon card would let Amazon transactions go through easier.

My wife still wears the watch almost daily and even occasionally mentions how much she likes it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another watch from Amazon.com Collection. All together a very smooth and definitely five star purchase.

Last watch you'll ever need -- or want
I bought this watch for it's striking appearance and the flawless professional reputation of the maker. I read other reviews here on Amazon and got it for an amazing price. After about a month of having worn it, I can honestly say it's my fave of all the watches in my collection (others being a Rolex, Tag and Swiss Army). The face is huge, the luminous hands and markers hold light forever. I can see it clearly day or night. It is largely silent and keeps perfect time. I can honestly say it is the last watch I'll ever buy - having found perfection in a timepiece and object d'arte.
