Bagless Hand Vacuum features two motor performance, a brushroll motor to loosen the dirt from carpet/upholstery, a suction motor to carry the debris to the dirt cup. On board hose and crevice tools. Exclusive Risor Visot pivots for cleaning vertical surfaces such as stair risers. 20' power cord. Weighs 5-1/2 lbs.
Amazon.com Review:
Hand-held but very powerful, this Eureka model eliminates the hassle of lugging around a full-size vacuum for cleaning car upholstery, sofas, and carpeted stairs. A long 20-foot cord (which wraps for storage) provides good reach, as does the deluxe hose that stretches to three times its length. With the crevice tool on the end of the hose, this vacuum reaches into all kinds of tight places. And, with two motors, one to power the revolving brush and one for suction, the 5.5 amp vacuum cleans deeply.
One of Eureka's innovations is the Riser Visor, a clear plastic cover that stays down for cleaning horizontal surfaces and flips up so the revolving brush can reach the vertical carpet on stair risers. There's no bag to change, just a filter and clear plastic dust cup to shake out when necessary. --Ann Bieri

The two second vacuum!
I chose the Eureka 71B over the new model of the Royal Dirt Devil based on the glowing reviews here. Wish I could give you a review of how it works but the darn thing shorted out after about two seconds!
That's right- I read the instructions, plugged it in and switched it on.
A loud whirring noise followed by a bright flash from inside the yellow case and a puff of smoke. Two seconds of fireworks, no seconds of vacuuming.
I'm not taking a chance on a second sample either-even though I purchased an extra filter that will cost me a re-stocking fee and return postage to the vendor.

Better than the rest!
We had purchased a Shark vacuum from our local store and ended up having to send it back to the company because it would overheat and turn off about every 3 minutes and would shoot dust out the back...it was such a pain! The Eureka is waaaay better--it doesn't overheat and is extremely quiet(even the cat doesn't get scared anymore), and the dust cup is pretty easy to empty(I'm not a huge fan of the cup, but its eco-friendly I guess). Anyway...great vacuum!

GREAT for pet hair
I was tired of dragging out the vacuum every time a cat hair appeared. Not only is this easier, but it does a much better job due to the seperate motor for the beater bar. The flexible hose has come in very very handy for little mishaps as well. I love it!

A great little vacuum
This is not your mother's dust buster. This thing just flat works. Does a great job on furniture. Love the flip up visor for stair risers. It's actually pretty useful. Hose is nice and works wonderfully. I use it all the time. One CON the replacement filters are pretty expensive. I'd recommend it to a friend!

Eureka!
When my daughter took our cat(thank you, thank you), she needed our old hand held vacuum. It was a good trade on my part. I needed to replace the hand held vacuum, so I went to Amazon. I read the reviews and the Eureka was the best choice. All of the reviews are true. This is one super vacuum. As far as I am concerned, the only drawback is its size and weight. But, I am willing to live with both due to its performance.
