Much better than I expected
I felt compelled to write the review after reading all the negative reviews on the unit. I am immensely pleased. The voice command capabilities make the unit a unique player in its class. The price has come down substantially from its original price. The automatic night mode is very nice. The chip set gets the signals rather swiftly even though I have not installed it on the windshield (installed on the dash). I do recommend the software upgrade to 4.x (this is totally FREE). Anyone who buys a GPS should check for updates on the firmware. I think too many people with the 4250 are using the old 2.x firmware. Upgeade to the 4.x version (takes 5 minutes) and the unit performs very very nicely. When compared to the Garmins it has a lot more features for the same price. The battery life is very nice and the unit is rather sleek. The AAA features and the traffic alerts are pretty amazing. I wonder why all GPS units don't have something similar. I am very pleased!

Frozen GPS
I have owned TWO of the Magellan 4250 units. TWO of them because the first one I ordered worked for about 4 hours, I turned it off, went in to my office and when I came back out to drive home, I turned the unit on and it froze.

So I called Amazon.com and returned it and they refunded my purchase(Thank You Amazon) then and sent me another NEW unit.

This unit worked Fine, it got me out of a few jams while on business in Oahu and worked fine back home in California.

Then the second unit, I had for only 19 days froze also, it froze while trying to update the maps via the update disc they sent me(the 30 day "supposedly free" map guarantee)which was an extra .00 and a total hassle to get because of all the Proof of Purchase and Registration info I had to provide.

After that I called Magellan customer service, I went to the steps of trying to revive the unit per their instructions, no luck at all with that, the unit was frozen.

Magellan customer service told me that I had to send the unit in and instead of repairing the unit they would send another unit to replace it.

Here's the kicker though and they won't tell you that(I read it in the fine print) they will send you a Refurbished unit first before they will send you a new one, they will only send you a new unit if there is not a refurbished one in stock.

For me this was unacceptable, I purchased the Magellan Maestro 4250 new out of the box and new is what I expected back in return for a unit that was only 19 days old and Magellan said that they could not guarantee me that I would recieve a new unit for a replacement, so my only alternative was to return it and search for another brand.

The Pros, I comes with AAA roadside assistance(if you have AAA) which I do. The spoken street names are more than loud enough

The Cons, The bugs I found were, the 4250 had a hard time recognizing my voice while using voice command.

The other was the Bluetooth phone feature, no matter how high I turned up the volume, I had a hard time hearing the person I was talking to through the unit.

Excellent Choice
The 4250 was not only a good deal but it is an excellent GPS device that can answer my cell phone. I give it 5 stars because it does everything I need and very effectively. I can zoom in and out while traveling it can keep track of over progress on an entire trip even if it is turned off at night while in a hotel, and at the end of the trip it will tell you average miles per hour for all hours driving or not. If your phone rings you just tap the screen to answer, oh and it plays MP3's as well. plus its thin less than an inch, and has a 7 hour battery life. Finally last but best it has all the roads and 6 million POI compaired to the crappy 1.5 to 2 that the tom tom has. I was looking for a post office and the tom tom didnt find it when this one did. Something to think about!

Great Product
This is a great product. It has excellent functionality and is easy to use. The display on the Maestro doesn't look like a cartoon as much as Garmin.

Magellan 4250 ... How Cool Is This Thing ???

I read good reviews and bad reviews and here is my review...
I LOVE IT... This thing is so cool it can find your long lost brother.
I love being able to talk to it and have it talk back to help me along my way. I tried it out going to places I already knew how to get to just to see how accurate it really was and ...WOW...It was always with-in about 10 feet of perfect.
I received it really fast from Amazon and have been having a lot of fun with it every since.
I hope it never breaks down but if it does I will just want another one.
All I really want to say is from my experience if you want a really cool GPS then get the Magellan 4250.
I think my wife is jealous because I talk more to Magellan than I talk to her. At least Magellan gives me the right directions and never yells at me :)

don't buy computers at Amazon
DON'T BUY IT AT AMAZON. Amazon not only charge me shipping cost for returning, but also CHARGE ME .50 RESTOCKING FEE(15% from original price) despite the fact that the computer is totally in the original condition. IS A LOT OF MONEY. I didn't know it otherwise I would never bought it at Amazon. As far as I know, other online computer sellers would not charge you such a high restocking fee.
I bought a laptop at a local Staples, they accepted the computer and refunded me full money for a computer of the same price as Amazon.
I would never buy any electronic at Amazon again.

More than pleased.
I have spent months going over the long list of netbooks out there and I finally made the decision to buy the Acer Aspire One. The keyboard is solid, I am presently typing this review on the AAO and I don't feel cramped as I touch type. I removed the Microsoft Office, McAfee, Microsoft Works and installed AVG Free. For productivity I installed OpenOffice and it works perfectly.

Straight out of the box the AAO recognized there were wireless networks to connect to, the process to connect was painless as I clicked on my network name and entered the network key without a problem. It connected without a hiccup.

I installed the Microsoft Visual environment from my desktop computer's dvd drive by mapping to it through my network. This, again, was very easy as the AAO had no problems recognizing the mapped drive. I produced a few simple modules and the MVE was solid.

I am surprised how useful this is. It is solid, fast, and very comfortable to use.

FAN NOISE: I would have to say that this is a very quiet fan. This model is cool running and when the fan comes on it is very quiet, so much so I hardly hear it. Perhaps this is an upgrade on my model.

I spent time with the Asus, Wind and other products and I am very pleased to say that this is the best of the netbook breed. If you are looking for something that will give you connectivity, handle productive software and package it all in a stylish case, the Acer Aspire One is the best in its class in my opinion.

Absolutely and totally in love with my Acer, nicest thing I did for me in awhile
I bought the Acer Aspire One after much researching, I was looking for a notebook with a really long battery life, so when I got the wild notion to lay in a field and work on my novel I could do so for 5 hours or so. (BINGO)

What I didn't expect was to fall so madly in love with this little computer. It's so cool looking, it's fast, it's got everything plus some things I didn't know I needed.

We have family all over the place and I never would have considered a webcam - duh. Its great my brothers can see my family when we chat, and that rocks. The webcam is really decent.

I have not had any problems with the fan or the touchpad. I used the Acer for 3 weeks before posting a review. I use it every single day, several times a day.

Initially I kept hitting the touchpad instead of the spacebar because of the smallness of the keyboard, but I no longer do that, I adjusted to it pretty fast.

I went with the white because finger prints would have driven me crazy. I originally bought a really crummy external cd rom/dvd rom reader, it was wretched, I'm transferring all my files and downloads via a usb flash port. I also bought a usb modem for when I need to use dial up connection, so that and a nifty little pocket type bag was all I needed to be totally elated with my purchase.

Love the Acer Aspire One. I have not had any problems at all. ( i did contact customer support because of my own stupidity about a key code number, they were ultra helpful, didn't make me feel like a fool and in less than 5 minutes they fixed me up)

Not recommend
Only three words: Do Not Buy...

I used it only for three weeks. It just couldn't boost to the windows xp. So I sent it back to ACER to fix it. After 2 weeks waiting, they told me they replaced the hard drive. So my priceless pix were all gone. However, when I turned on the computer, it became worse. Before it boost to the xp, it shut down by itself....

Where is the internet?
I have been on the phone with 4 Acer technicians with no success in getting the machine to connect to the internet. Machine is brand new. We have reinstalled the operating system and now we have moved on to a level 3 technician. They are not in today. I have already printed my return label to send this machine back to Amazon. Don't waste your money on this machine. I have since found lots of reviews with the same problem as I am having. I asked 2 different techs if they have had calls with problems like mine and both techs (as nice as they are) skirted around the answer. Acer is not acknowledging a problem at this time. If you buy this machine, good luck. I am really, really disappointed.

WOW!!!!
This watch looks 100 times better in person than the pictures that are online. I went to the mall to have links removed and the lowest price I ran across was 1,200.00 dollars. Most places were giving 10 - 20% discounts but, they still did not come close to the 400 or so dollars paid for this one through Amazon. Although, I see now that the price has been jacked up to 900 bucks... Too bad! Still worth it though!

Stunning... a "must buy" from amazon
I got this watch for my boyfriend and he loves it... wears it every day. It looks stunning when he is dressed up in his business attire. I debated between this watch and the Movado Meza. I highly suggest this one because the half-moon details on the band really capture the light and adds a little touch of style without looking too flashy. Definitely get this online because you save a ton of money.

This is a nice watch which complements a Movado Military (back museum dial) in my collection. No complaints. It is simple and attractive.

Great Entry Level Movado
I have been wearing movados for over 30 years, I currently have 4, and this one is nice especially considering the price. Highly reccomended!

Wonderful sound, but an eccentric interface.
I have been using this device now for a few months, preferring to wait until I'm settled in with it before I wrote a review extolling any virtues or deriding any problems.

I typically use this device while commuting to work (about a 1 hour commute, another hour to get home). Although I haven't done so yet, I would also use this while traveling to a job site.

I work as a senior software engineer for a company that does a lot of work with broadcast media, to give a little background to help you decide if I'm a moron who just can't figure out how to work with any device (let alone this one), or just someone who finds this thing challenging to use.

First, the pros:

The Cowon A3 provides a marvelous sound. I could hear nuances in the music that I missed before when I plugged this into my car's stereo. I believe the device's several pre-defined equalization settings also help tweak the sound without having to be a genius at equalization, while still granting the flexibility to equalize to your exacting specifications if desired. I doubt many players could beat this one for the sound.

I also love that this unit works with ogg vorbis files right out of the box. I don't have to install RockBox or some other 3rd party tool to enable ogg vorbis, my preferred audio encoding.

I enjoyed being able to add lyrics to my songs if I wanted, and have those lyrics play back within the device.

The video screen is very large for this kind of device, providing ample room to watch videos you could store in the thing. I created my own little animation and put it in the device, allowing me to show it to friends without having to create a DvD or force someone to download the animation or whatever.

I also like how you can customize it with your own preferred background images if you like. It comes with some nice samples to use.

Although I have not needed this, it provides interfaces for connecting to an analog television set, or a digital television set. This would be great for storing and showing home videos to family and friends.

It has a pretty good battery life. Once charged, this remains charged for a good while before I need to recharge it again.

It has several nice features built into it... too many to describe in a review like this. And the menu layout for accessing these features makes sense, and isn't overly cumbersome.

And now, some negative press:

The user interface is awkward to use sometimes. It comes with a joy-stick-like control that doubles as a button. You can easily try to move the cursor in some direction, but accidentally press the button at the same time, resulting in a mis-click. This makes working with the device while driving virtually impossible; set up your playlist and everything in advance, and just let it do its thing.

The device's interface also seems buggy. Often, I've tried to interrupt the thing while it's playing to make it do something else, but it either reacts very slowly to such requests, or it just freaks out and loses its tiny little mind. You have to coddle it, waiting very patiently for it to react to whatever you've requested, before attempting to make it do anything else. It is for this reason alone that I haven't rated the Cowon A3 better, as I feel the user interface is a very important part of the overall player. I really want to give this a better rating, for all of it's wonderful features and excellent sound, but I cannot in good conscience do so because of this awful interface. So often, I've had to reset the whole device in a desperate bid to get it to recover.

Its ability to receive FM signals, as described in other reviews here, leaves much to be desired. I live in a metropolitan area (Washington DC area, to be precise), with plenty of strong FM radio signals to receive. This device barely receives any of them, and does so with such poor quality as to be completely useless. While it's an excellent idea to provide the ability to receive FM signals, the inability to actually pick up these signals kind of defeats the purpose. If I could just add an antennae or something... ah well.

As mentioned earlier, I was able to create an animation of my own, and put it in the device. Unfortunately, you have to convert your video to something that seems kind of proprietary in order to make this work. I wish I could just render my video in ogg theora (I mean, after all, if they support ogg vorbix, why not also support ogg theora?), MPEG2 (program stream, although it would be awesome to use transport streams, too), or MPEG4 and be done with it. This is a minor complaint, honestly.

The software that comes with the package feels incomplete. By way of a specific example, I had to search online to find the software that allowed me to embed the lyrics in my music in such a way as to render them within the device. Annoyingly, the CD provides software that leads you to believe you could embed the lyrics using the software, but in fact it doesn't actually seem to work towards this purpose at all. Or, if it does, it somehow manages to defeat my efforts to make it do so.

I also found it very annoying that it doesn't seem to actually draw power from the USB connection. If you anticipate spending a long amount of time with this hooked up to your computer, you'd better use the power cord that came with it, or it'll eventually run out of power. You cannot recharge this device using USB power... you absolutely must use the power cord (which means I now have to bring yet another cord, instead of being able to simply hook this up to a plugged-in-laptop to recharge it, like I can most other devices I own).

The name 'MobileTV' seems misleading to me. This thing is only mobile in that you might record something from a television tuner for replay later. As far as I can tell, you cannot actually view broadcast television from the air without the assistance of a tuner to provide the video.

The video does not support overlaying traditional closed captioning (from line 21 video) as far as I can tell. If you're deaf, this device is useless to you, I believe.

Despite my not-so-great rating, and the many cons I've described, I really do like this device overall. I prefer it over my iPod, because the sound really is that much better, and for the commute, as long as I know what I want to listen to in advance, I can set it up, and let it ride for the full hour I'm on the road. If Cowon could fix the various user interface issues, I'd love to give it at least one more star.

My IPOD is dying, and Cowon to the rescue!!!
As the title suggests the battery is going in my 15 month old, gen 5, 80G IPOD Classic and there's problems with the click wheel. I had numerous MP3 players before the IPOD; Creative Nomad, Creative Jukebox Zen, Archos 400 series (this was my favorite, until now,)and I switched to the IPOD because it was light, easy navigation, good sound, and nice screen, and the Itunes Music Management software worked so well. I had heard the sound was "decent" and that was good enough with my Sure E500s. But the downside, was that I travel, work across at least 1 work PC, and 2 personal ones, and it was a struggle to work with music and maintain my digital library, when I was 80% on the road and tied to an authorized PC at home. However for the aforementioned reason I went to buy a 6th generation IPOD classic; only to read in the forums that Apple dummed down the audio chip in the 6th generation, and there was poorer sound then my old one. I reviewed all the competition; and picked the Cowon A3 because; it wasn't as expensive with all the add on's and things I didn't need than the new Archos 5; it didn't have the Hard Drive noise of the new Microsoft Zune 120; it had more storage, and edged out the Creative Zen Xfi according to reviews. I will not address all the things that have positively been said about the Corwon, look at the A3 80 reviews and the A3 60. But I will address some issues others have noted. Navigation with the joystick; no big problem you get used to it quickly. Lack of ID3 tag sorting, no big deal, can easily find what I want in the folder structure on my PC and likewise on the Corwon. Heavy like a Brick, just a bit more than my 5th generatin classic, and a big improvement over my old Archos. I think it's a cool device. Old style buttons and connectors, not "sexy." Hey Baby it works! What really sold me is I went to Cowon's website and reviewed all their products, their support forum, (very few real issues,) their specs, S/N ration (87)and their 64 mw combined stereo out to drive decent headphones; their awards and legions of international users! The player is tremendous; the sound is awesome! Sceen beautiful; radio neat, and the rest, I'm sure will be equal to what others have said; bottom line is it's great for music! my main reason! And to put the music on it, all my windows music, and all my Itunes non-protected music, works instantly with just copying and pasting from my PC to the devices music folder.
And guess what, Amazon drop ships it right from the Cowon America distribution center! How fresh is that!
This wouldn't be for my wife and daughter, looking for a small simple device for exercise; but for Audiophile level use on the road and off; and to rid yourself of the chains of Apple control, Cowon's A3 is a #1, a AAAAA rated harddrive based player! And I have all the other cool feature of video, FM Radio and photos to enjow yet in the future. If you study the pricing and model release, right now, you are buying the Cowon with 80G right at the early settleing in of post release pricing, a sweetspot and a smart value. The hardware has been around for sevral years...so you know it works...and remember...you should buy this for the sound...but ditch the earphone packaged with it...and get some earphones you like to enjoy your music with; the Sure, Sennheiser, or even the 0. earphones from Bose, my daughter uses are all more than adequate choice brands.

Cowon A3 is Superior
I 've a A3 for a couple of days and after comparing it to my q5w, I prefer the A3 for a couple of reasons. First it plays my AAC music files, which I needed additional software to do that on the q5. It's lighter than than the q5, and fits in a pocket easier. It can also record my favorite TV shows to watch at a later time. The only thing the A3 needs to be perfect is bluetooth. If music is important to you I recommend the A3, for sound quality it beats my ipod hands down.

Don't listen to the nay sayers
Cowon Products are great. They were years ahead of the Ipod. This gadget is neat. Beautiful color screen is 4 inchs wide and the record direct feature is flawless. I will agree with the other guy and say their service center is horrable. I had e-mailed them about a warranty and it took forever for them to get back to me. This review is not about their coustmer service. The A3 has a bunch of cool features it can pick up radio and TV signals which you can record directly to the device. It hold pictures, documents, music, video. With 80 gigs of Hard drive space you never run out of room.

If you are looking for a great product check out Cowon they are worth it. 1.6 milion color screen with HD like picture you won't want to put it down.

Don't by Cowon products...
I have been thoroughly disappointed with their products and lack of customer service. They average about 2-3 weeks to return an email for customer service issues. I finally got through to a representative and was advised to send the product back to them, at my own expense and they emailed back about 1 month later stating that there is no problem with the item. When I emailed back with a detailed description of the specific situation I encountered (item stopped powering on or charging through the USB port) they ceased communication. I still haven't heard back from them, but will never buy their products ever again. They are terrible both at manufacturing and caring for their customers.

Fantastic
Goodbye Sansa hello Apple. Not going to write a dissertation becasue I see that's been done. This is by far one of the neatest gifts I have ever received and so far the quality and function are heads and sholders above other MP3 players I have used. Apple proves themsleves again when it comes to the user interface.

I'm new to the iPod clan and the control of this unit is very impressive to me. I got my daugher a Nano and was impressed to see it has most of the same functionality sans the touchscreen control.

I would rate this 5 stars except that I find iTunes less than intuitive when it comes time to sync. I have about 14K songs and it's hard select the right 5-6K to fill out the 32GB. Also seems tedious to clean up the library, de-dupe, etc.

I am also concerened about comments on durability and water damage, plan to plug this baby into the ipod port on my ski boat. I hope that A.) it charges the ipod and B.) it hold up to some minor jostles and possibly a drop of water from time to time. Stay tuned.

5 stars for the awesome device, 3 stars for the lousy battery
First of all, I absolutely love the device itself. Without going into details about all of the wonderful features of this device, which other reviewers here have already done to death, I will just say that this is one of the most impressive gadgets I've ever played with. The things this little device can do and do very well are just mind blowing. Alas, if only it had a reasonably powerful battery to go with it.....


I'm very disappointed with the short battery life. Sure, if you just listen to songs you'll probably get ~35 hours of playtime as claimed by Apple, but who amongst us bought this expensive device just to listen to songs? It's too expensive to be used simply as an MP3 player. For me, it was the Touch's wi-fi capability that was THE main buying point and in that department I found the result to be decidedly mixed. While the wi-fi feature works flawlessly and beautifully, it just saps the life out of the battery in no time. In my experience, using wi-fi continuously drains the battery (to the 20% level) within 2-3 hours. Even if you implement all the power saving features recommended by Apple & other users, you would still be lucky to get 2 days of playtime even under normal usage (1-2 hours of internet and 4-5 hours of music & apps). I don't mind charging my Touch every day but the downside is every charge brings the battery that much closer to its end, which is about 400 charges according to Apple. In other words, this 0 + device will be basically useless within 2 years unless you pay Apple to have the battery replaced. Just think about that. Your beloved Touch will be useless within 2 years, or sooner if you charge it every day, unless you've no problem forking over to have the battery replaced.

Conclusion: A+ for the device, B- for the battery.

Touching makes everything better!
I've held off on writing a review of the iPod Touch 2G 32GB...simply because I was afraid of how long a review it would be. Lengthy, only because of its fine features and excellent performance!

...let's give it a go, shall we?

The 2nd generation of the iPod touch features:

-motion sensitivity, which means that the screen on your touch will rotate depending on how you hold your iPod touch. VERY COOL!

-volume buttons on the side, which is VERY, VERY convenient for being able to adjust volume without having to unlock the iPod every time a song gets too loud/quiet!

Some Favorite Features:

CALENDAR
I bought the Touch because of it's Calendar feature, as surprising as it may be! Once synced with Microsoft Outlook, all my calendar data was immediately transferred to the Touch. Rather than being a music/video/photo player, exclusively, the Touch also became my personal day-timer. And boy, with a busy schedule, it's nice to be able to have all that information at your fingertips...literally. Adding/editing appointments is easy as anything.

Which leads me into typing with the Touch

TYPING
Typing with the Touch, is AMAZINGLY sensitive! Granted the thinner your fingers are, the easier it will be, but still...it can accurately tell the difference between typing a 'T' or a 'Y'. Fabulous! I will say that typing on the landscape mode (or horizontally) is preferred and considerably easier and feels more natural.

Typing e-mails, web URLS, calendar events...all this, is very easy and convenient. For e-mails, please note that the 'Mail' application of the Touch does not rotate and thus, you cannot type horizontally. HOWEVER, there are a variety of 3rd party applications available for that, and they work marvelously...so, no worries. (I recommend FireMail).

WEB-BROWSING
By far, the COOLEST feature, in my opinion. There's nothing like checking your favorite websites and physically interacting it! With a touch of my finger, I can click a link. With simple finger movements, you can zoom in/zoom out...anywhere on the page.

Now, granted, you need a WIFI connection, but if you are like me (a college student), then...hopefully, most of your campus/work-environment is already wireless! In which case, you are good to go! I can be in the Student Union or in my dorm, and still be fully connected at all times!

APPLICATIONS
Applications, are your best friend...thanks to some savvy programmers! Of all the applications I have downloaded and used, the Apple Remote application blows my mind the most!

Just imagine...you can control the iTunes library on your computer...BY YOUR IPOD TOUCH! SNAP! Once I got it connected (easy to do...takes...1 second), I was just browsing my computer's music library on my Touch. VERY COOL!

Some other games/apps utilize the Touch's internal gyroscope (which allows for motion sensitivity) and makes usage a lot of fun. From bowling to beer pong, you can find many games to entertain you (and people watching you swing your Touch in the air and scream, "STRIKE!").

VIDEO
Fight Club or Casino Royale...in the palm of your hands! Damn straight! The video quality is phenomenal and it's just, overall, very convenient to be able to watch movies whenever you want. There is a nifty feature that, when you decide to leave the movie...it'll start up exactly where you left off when you return to the movie!

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS

The Touch also features a built-in NIKE+ receiver...which I have yet to use as I use my 1G NANO for that. In all honesty, I'm still a little bit too nervous to go running with a 400 dollar iPod. But that's just me.

I didn't cover the Photo feature, so here's my 5 seconds on it: The pictures will rotate when you rotate your Touch. You can also zoom/zoom out by using your fingers. Simply put, too cool.

NOW, you're thinking...okay...okay...I'm gonna spend the money on it, but wait...what about protecting it from everyday use?

WISE QUESTION!

I had the same concerns and from my experience with iPods (I own 4), the back of the iPod is like a scratch magnet! Not to mention, the entire front screen of the iPod is well...pretty darned important. For that, I would recommend Zagg's Invisible Shield. You may have seen the youtube videos where a key is used on the back of an iPhone?

It works...seriously. I took a key to the front and back and...nothing. Now it is a bit tricky to install, but once it's done...it is well worth the effort...and price!

I use my Touch...everyday! I check my e-mails, weather, websites, calendar, and even my to-do list. And protected by the Invisible Shield, I have no worries about putting it in my pocket with my keys!

All I can really say is: You have to experience owning a Touch, to really understand why we Touch owners love it so much. You won't get tired of playing with it, and even if you do...you cannot get tired of its functionality, which is unparalleled!

BUY IT!

Good But Not Perfect
I had been an AT&T/Cingular/new AT&T customer for years. My past two phones were PDA phones (TREO 600 & Cingular 8125). I was disappointed in their performance but kept holding out for better phones. At the same time, the AT&T wireless coverage at my work continued to be at best pathetic. Of course, my phone problem was apparently answered by the iPhone 3G. However while at work, I would have problems getting calls. In the meantime, those with Verizon service consistently were able to make and receive calls from campus and inside the buildings. So, I decided to switch my service from AT&T to Verizon. Unfortunately, the Verizon phones were not my cup of tea. I settled with a cheap (i.e. free) flip phone. I still needed a pocketpcish replacement. After some research, I decided to give the iPod Touch a try. My experience with this device has been eye opening and somewhat disappointing.

What are the positives with this phone? First, the device's look and performance are impressive. They definitely make the Treo's and Pocket PC's I used in the past look like toys made by amateurs. The large color display is gorgeous. The applications execute with almost no hesitation. The wireless abilities (802.11 b/g) are far superior to my previous PDA phones. Even the web surfing experience is actually workable though Safari does not support Flash (which shows up more frequently than I expected). The interface is so intuitive that my wife (who has troubles with my electronic toys) was tinkering with it like a pro. That speaks volumes about the iPod Touch touchscreen interface. Second, it is pretty easy to add applications to the Touch using the iTunes app store. The pocket pc interface was always clunky.

What are the negatives? First, the device has no bluetooth. I keep finding myself wanting to grab my bluetooth headset and listen to an audiobook. I'm getting tired of wires. Second, the operating system for this device and the iTunes interface seem to be e-book phobic. I have e-books on my laptop that could be loaded to my pocket pc and read with a cheap e-book reader. It is very difficult to do that on a Touch (or any iPOD). Part of the problem has to do with the size of the data buffer that e-books would use. Another part of the problem is iTunes. It is designed to move music/movies/photos/apps to your iPOD and nothing else. The e-book readers for the Touch are getting much better with time. However, getting e-books on your Touch is a real pain. All in all, I find this development hole to be shameful. Third, iTunes is a pain. I don't feel as strongly against iTunes as a did a few months ago when my wife got a Nano. I have had an opportunity to get used to it. However, I would prefer to copy my music/video over directly instead of going through a at times obtuse piece of software. Oh and by the way, you cannot just copy over albums or individual tracks to your Touch. Instead, you must create a playlist. iTunes will only copy over the tracks/albums that are assigned to a playlist. Fourth, the touchscreen is not kind to those of use with medium sized or larger fingers. There is not stylus which would allow for greater precision when you click out a word or URL on their virtual keyboard. I find that my finger misses the correct letter more often than I would like. I can live with this annoyance. Fifth, the almost 50% price increase in going from a 8 GB to 16 GB Touch is tough to stomach. I decided to go with the 8 GB version. With proper file management, I'll make due. Lastly, a true GPS ability would have been nice. The Touch has the ability to use Wi-Fi to detect your location. However, that breaks down when you get away from Wi-Fi heavy areas. It's impressive technology but not something you can rely upon.

In conclusion, if the iPod Touch had included bluetooth and better support for e-books, I would have given it 4-4.5 stars. If GPS had been thrown into the mix, then I would have given it 5 stars. In it's current form and cost, I'll give it 3 stars.

Breakthrough product
It's intuitive, it's fast, it's small. It's a groundbreaking product and with 10,000+ apps to choose from it's simply one of a kind. The only thing better than this is the iphone (Which I recently bought to replace my touch)

So warm and comfy!
I love these boots. Living in maine I wanted warm boots and so far my feet have been toasty warm in very cold temps. I wear a size 11 and did buy a 10 and they fit great. They feel like your wearing soft fuzzy slippers. the most comfortable thing I have ever worn.. Im getting another pair in a dark color I like them so well.

Torn b/w UGGs and EMUs? Read me!
I spent several days researching the right pair of boots. I narrowed it down to UGGs which had very positive reviews but were pricey, and EMUs which seemed to be basically the same product for half the price. Sounds too good to be true? It is.

Here is what I found:
- UGGs are made of sheepskin inside and out, and cost 0-0 for
the most popular type (called Classic, short or tall), more for the
"fancier" varieties (but I honestly prefer the look of the Classic
model)
- EMUs have TWO types of products: (1) sheepskin inside and out, and
(2) cowhide outside, merino wool inside. The first variety cost the
same as the UGGs, the second one (not as cozy, not as comfi) cost
about half the price

So, I went with the UGGs which appear to be the more original/popular and am VERY VERY happy - these boots really insulate you from the harsh cold completely. Happy feet are worth the $$ for me in thise case. I got the tall variety in grey, and LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

Another misconception that I'd like to correct - NEITHER is 100% waterproof - as in they'll basically keep you warm and dry in a reasonable amount of rain/snow, but if you drench them it will show (common sense). UGGs has real waterproof models which are more like regular snow boots etc. UGGs also has a water-resistant treatment to improve the durability, but friends I spoke to didn't do that and haven't had any water seeping in when she's worn UGGs in the rain.

So basically, the real deal sheepskin product costs the same (and is similar in quality, comfort).

I had such a hard time figuring this out - shame on all the websites for sneakily pretending that the cheaper EMUs are made of the same material, which they are not!

There is a reason to buy UGG
The boots are ALIVE. When I put my foot inside, the shearling wrapped around and through my toes and foot. Wonderful! Even a half size too small, I didn't want to take them off. Needless to say, I returned them. I did not reorder the long boot because if you have big legs, your pants won't fit inside. I am going to order the Ultimate Short Boot so that my pants will fit over them. As always, AMAAZON service is great.

Be careful when washing
It's just fine as UGGs should be. Be sure you READ the instructions when washing them cos if you use the washing lotion directly to the shepkin,Uggs'll just fade.Mine's go tten a little bid lighter though.

I love the way these boots make my feet feel! Very warm and comfortable. On the downside, maintaining is another story. If you think you will be wearing these in the snow and rain, forget about it.

Very pretty scarf
I ordered the scarf as a present for my dad's wife. It was a gorgeous deep red color and very soft. It was not thick and probably not as warm as some other scarves. But based on looks, it is a good buy.

Good but maybe a little random?
I see a lot of mixed reviews and I think I see why. I ordered 3 scarfs and this is what I got:

1 pink - nice quality, has a label that says "100% Cashmere" on it.
1 white - nice quality, also had the label
1 black - no label and seems to be lower quality than the pink and white ones, almost like it's a different material. The black one "sheds" a bit and just doesn't seem to be as tightly woven as the other two.

So I think the bottom line is that for whatever reason, the quality on these scarves has some variance.

Still, I like all of them, even the black one. They're all soft and warm and about, oh, 10?" wide and a good 5+ feet tall so I can wrap it around my neck with plenty to spare and pull it up as a mask when the wind is really biting. The original list price makes me laugh but the sale price is quite reasonable and so far I'm pleased with them.

I ordered this scarf because my father wanted one for Christmas. He asked for a nice scarf that could be worn with both his dress clothes and his normal day to day clothing. Misconceptions about cashmere scarf
Just to correct some misconceptions about cashmere scarves. First of all a real cashmere scarf is supposed to be thin as the scarves featured here. Second of all a real cashmere scarf is soft and does not cause itchiness which is also the case here. The only thing that I am not satisfied with the scarf is the fuzzy hair that stick on it when you wear it for a long time. But other than that, it is a pretty decent cashmere scarf.

worth my money
I purchased this necklace for a very good price of 9.99. Although I don't intend to wear this, I am very much satisfied with it, it is a good investment.

Very good width but thin. 48g of gold per jeweler.
I was a little disappointed with the thickness of this piece although from far away, it looks substantial. Had it weighed by jeweler and the weight is 48g of gold. I had it made into a 18" chain and 7in matching bracelet. It cost me . Looks much better in a shorter length.

Photograph does not do justice for this necklace. This is 49gm in weight. I prefer 18 or 22K gold necklace but settled for the 14K because of the price and size. 8.2 mm is big I will upload photos shortly comparing this to other items and then you will realize how good and big this is.
Price on this fluctuates on amazon. I have almost always seen this at 1999.00. At this price, you are paying 800 for labor and wastage that happens in making jewelry.
14K is roughly 67% gold and rest is other metals.

I get many compliments for this necklace and some of my friends are waiting for this to go on sale again for them to buy.
