Handpresso Wild #HPWILD 16 Bar, Hand Pump Espresso Machine
Handpresso Wild #HPWILD 16 Bar Hand Pump Espresso Machine, Black

Manufacturer: Handpresso
The HandPresso Wild is a hand-held, portable espresso maker. It makes real espresso using 16 bar of pressure to force hot water through the ground coffee in about 30 seconds. This is no gimmick, but a viable device for making espresso almost anywhere. HandPresso is made for use in the outdoors -- hiking, backpacking, camping, and for use anywhere you want espresso -- the office, outdoor concerts, the ball game, auto racing, your lunch break at the park, etc. Real, quality espresso can now be had almost anywhere. HandPresso has a built-in pump, operated just like a bicycle pump. You stroke it until the gauge's pointer is in the green zone -- 16 bars of pressure. The portafilter cap is then removed and hot water poured into the reservoir (please be careful not to burn yourself). You then lay an espresso pod in place (the HandPresso uses only E.S.E.-style espresso pods). The portafilter cap is then attached and secured. Now the fun begins. Simply turn the unit over and gravity places the hot water in contact with the pod. Push the Espresso Start button and the stored air pressure forces the water through the espresso pod, out the spout, and into your cup. It's that simple. For more shots -- simply repeat. The Handpresso Wild is constructed superbly. Many of the parts are constructed of velvet-finish plastic to give a good grip and be cooler to the touch. The unit arrives in an elegant black box.

Wild for my Handpresso!
Love it! Love it! My work day flies by. I will recoup the cost in a month and not have to schlep to the coffee shop in the cold and rain for my latte fix. Not to mention the aerobic workout I get pumping up to 16 bars! It helps to have a hot water dispenser down the hall.

Defective Product!
The pressure never got even half way to the "green" zone, after pumping extremely hard for over 10 minutes.
I exchanged the first one, for another one, thinking maybe I just got a defective model. However, the second Handpresso Wild did the same thing, the pressure never went up, even after pumping hard for 10 minutes.
I did make an expresso anyway, thinking it still might be good, but it wasn't. No "crema" on top at all, like a good espresso should have. I returned the second one for a refund.

Handespresso gone whild!
I first experienced the Handspresso Wild as we drove like crazy Americans through the German countryside this past Sept attending Eurobike in Friedrichshaffen. Some of the evenings attending late parties and being tagged as the responsible designated driver my co workers rewarded me by keeping me full of espresso shots as I drove the hour between town and our hotel together. The trick to enjoying good shots is boiling hot water. How do you get boiling hot water in the German countryside? It was easy. We kept a thermos of boiling water in the van and used it to pull shots. Along with the Handpresso I recommend a nice thermos for boiling water, a milk frother, and good ESE pods. Currently I am using the Illy ESE pods and they work great!
After returning to America I purchased one on Amazon and used it over Thanksgiving to make espresso for my brother in law and sister in law for desert at the family get together. They dug it. Now I have another on order for Tim for Christmas. Being a headmaster at a local private school he misses espresso in the morning and doesn't want to spend hundreds if not thousands on a small machine for his office. This will be perfect along with a nice thermos.
It is anything but a bicycle pump!

This is an awesome little gadget!
This little espresso maker is awesome! I was also skeptical after buying and returning several other non electric espresso makers. I needed something that I could use without electricity and this little gadget actually makes a great little cup of espresso!
My only complaints are that it only make a really small cup at a time and that I am unable to find the e.s.e. pods that you must use at any brick and mortar stores but must order online. Oh well, nothing's perfect.
I also bought a battery operated milk frother which enables me to make a very satisfactory latte!

Quality is amazing
The build quality is top notch.
Easy to use, small and easy to clean.
My first review ever so I think that speaks a lot of how good I think this one is.
