Amazon.com Review:
Hoover’s latest canister stands out for its design-savvy looks, not to mention the fact that it cleans with powerful WindTunnel technology. Dirt particles are cleverly ducted away from the spinning agitators to ensure they’re captured in the bagless dirt cup and not sent back out onto the carpet. The HEPA filter traps minute allergen particles and conveniently removes for cleaning. Large, soft wheels allow the compact 12-amp vacuum--which looks like it could play a robot extra in Star Wars--to maneuver easily. Best of all, the handgrip features electronic control buttons for power on and off, variable suction (allowing smooth transition from wood floors to area rugs), and agitator action speed for carpets. Tools are easily attached to the telescoping wand, making it a snap to switch from cleaning floors to using drape and upholstery tools. A one-year warranty covers this unique vacuum against defects.

Good vacuum - But needs care
We've had this vacuum for 10 months (empty nesters, no pets, 1500 sf home, cleaning service uses this vacuum). It worked really well at the start, then after 9 months started to fade. The problems are that 1) The belt needed to be changed on the powerhead and 2) The filter really needed to be replaced, washing, 'tho possible was not practical. The local repair joint suggested changing both every three months (they wish!) Once the belt and filter were changed the machine was back performing like a champ. We'll replace them every six months...

Excellent, if a little hard to maneuver
The most effective vacuum I've ever owned. But, then, my Kenmore canister, bought in 1966, likely will keep its title for longest running (and with no repairs other than duct tape) as it's still running. I've had the Hoover only a few weeks, but it is powerful, thorough in its pickup of everthing from cat hair to micro dust, and easy to operate. Like most canisters, it's a bit clunky to pull around -- and the weight that gives it substance makes that harder. Also, the one floor/rug head doesn't fit under some of my furniture. Still, these seem like minor problems in the trade-off for the good job it does. This model is bagless, which might not be an advantage -- cleaning the good-sized dirt cup and filter takes some time.

So far so good
I have had this vacuum for a little more than a month, its pretty quiet, but very powerful. I would prefer a bottom empty dirt cup, but thats my only con with it so far, I hope it lasts longer than others have claimed!

Hooever No Longer Provides Factory Service - Look Elsewhere
I purchased this Hoover 10 months ago after reading many reviews, including Consumer Reports. In spite of reviews suggesting that the belt is a bit finicky, I purchased it confidently knowing that the machine could be sent to a factory service center within a year of purchase for repair or replacement. Hoover's policy always has been that if a customer shipped one way, the company would pay for return shipping.
I purchased it at Amazon for 0 shipped and was pleasantly satisfied ... until the belt began slipping after less than a month of use. It was replaced, and it slipped again. It was replaced, and it slipped again. Since the original purchase, I have replaced the belt at least once a month.
Still in warranty, I contact Hoover about shipping my machine to a Factory Service Center for repair or replacement. I was told that they were in the process of closing their Factory Service Centers, and all would be closed -- if they weren't already -- by 12/31/08.
I now own a 0 doorstop. I imagine that I will continue to replace the belt monthly or more for a while. But I will never purchase another Hoover product again.
Look for this one at a rummage sale near you.

This thing really sucks!
This thing really sucks ,and that's a GOOD thing. It sucks up dirt ,dog hair, lint, everything you don't want on your floors. It's easy to empty and doesn't use any bags. I would recomend this machine to anyone that wants clean floors, and doesn't want to buy alot of bags.
